Education to Become a Respiratory Therapist
Becoming a respiratory therapist is not easy as it requires special educational requirements, certification exams and if you are to go into a specialty, further training and certifications.
Respiratory therapy schools must be accredited colleges and universities whether online or on a physical campus in order to provide you with the necessary training and degrees.
The respiratory therapist field requires certifications whose credentials are administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Attaining the proper degree(s) which is done in two tiers is necessary before work can commence as a CRT, RRT, MPH, CRT-NPS, RRT-NPS, CPFT or RPFT and before certification exams can be taken.
The classes are smaller than most to provide superior hands on training.
Many people compete to enroll.
Starting salary for respiratory care therapists is $32,000 to $60,000 because there is a significant demand for them.
The pay range is based on a variety of factors, from location to employer, and from amount of education to experience.
Doctors will need your help as an RT to help their patients battle lung conditions, from asthma to emphysema.
