My Experiences with Getting My First Auto Insurance

I have ‘warm’ memories from the very first time I purchased auto insurance for my car (I am hoping that the sarcasm passed). It was a tricky and perplexing list of decisions I had to make. At first my aim was basically to get very cheap car insurance. But then I found out it’s not so simple: obtaining really cheap auto insurance means giving up a lot of protections that a more expensive auto insurance provides (such as medical coverage, auth theft, etc).

That was the moment where I began doing research on the subject. I read a great deal about the subject which is ‘fascinating’ (sarcasm..), but this has proven to be very useful as I was both able to get a decent auto insurance, from a decent company, at an relatively cheap price.

Moreover, I learned that things could get even more difficult, and my scenario is not that complex: for example car insurance for teenagers is really expensive because teenagers are prone to accidents (statistically speaking), so once your teenage daughter gets his/her license, your insurance company is likely to raise your premium. Fortunately, this is an issue I don’t need to be concerned over for at least 13 more years (my son is not even close to being a teenager).

Luckily for us all, the internet is a rich source of useful information. In fact, many websites allow you to compare car insurance quotes from multiple providers. I highly recommend visiting such sites: not only you will learn a lot, but you are also certain to finish with a much improved (and less expensive) car insurance than you would’ve otherwise.
